Angiography is a procedure that uses X-ray contrast to visualize the blood vessels (arteries or veins) in your body.

Why is angiography performed?

When blood vessels become blocked, damaged, or have any other abnormalities, it can lead to conditions such as chest pain, heart attack, stroke, or other problems. Angiography helps your doctor identify the source of the problem and determine the extent of damage in the examined blood vessel segments.
