On the morning of Eid al-Adha, it is important to have a light breakfast. Instead of foods like roasted meat, pastries, and stuffed grape leaves, you can have a breakfast with eggs, cheese, olives, a small amount of honey, homemade jam, and whole grain bread. Consuming meat on an empty stomach, which is difficult to digest, can lead to indigestion.

To make the most of the nutritional content of the Eid meat, it is recommended to consume it during lunch and dinner along with plenty of salad. Preference should be given to baked and stewed dishes.

Portion control is important when it comes to red meat. 6 tablespoons of roasted meat can be consumed as a portion instead of a dish with meat.

Red meat is a rich source of iron, magnesium, zinc, and phosphorus.

If you love foods with a high carbohydrate load like pastries and stuffed grape leaves and cannot give them up, you can have them as a snack in the afternoon, provided that you pay attention to portion sizes.

During visits, we should consume the treats slowly and in moderation. To burn off some of the calories we consume, we should aim to take 30-45 minute walks or reach 10,000 steps per day. Instead of sugary drinks, it is recommended to consume water, mineral water, buttermilk, and yogurt. It is important to drink 2-2.5 liters of water per day.

Throughout the holiday, individuals with diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and those following a special dietary treatment should pay attention to their food choices and not disrupt their treatment.

Especially for individuals with stomach and intestinal diseases, it is advised not to consume the sacrificial meat immediately. After keeping it in the refrigerator for a few days, it should be cooked preferably by boiling before consumption. Meat should be consumed in moderation, paying attention to portion sizes and avoiding excessive consumption.
