Taking care of our oral and dental health is one of the most important aspects for us. Proper brushing can prevent future health problems. After incorrect brushing or not brushing at all, dental decay, bad breath, gum inflammation, and abscesses can occur.

What Should We Pay Attention to While Brushing Our Teeth?

  • Putting excessive toothpaste on our toothbrush is not correct. We should put a pea-sized amount of toothpaste.
  • We should hold our toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to our teeth.
  • We should start brushing our teeth gently with circular oval motions. Brushing with back-and-forth or up-and-down motions is wrong. These movements can cause gum recession and tooth sensitivity.
  • We should brush our teeth at least twice a day, for a minimum of 3 minutes each time, morning and evening.
  • Brushing the surface of the tongue is very important. It kills bacteria and prevents bad breath.
  • After brushing our teeth, we should spit out the toothpaste and rinse our mouth thoroughly with water.
